Under the general supervision of the Police Support Services Director, supports the research, technology, and computer programming functions of the Police Department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, criminal justice, information technology, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a computing operating systems environment.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Must pass Police Department background investigation.
Must possess a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University's insurance carrier.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Prefer experience in a PC support environment, experience with relevant software, and criminal justice related statistics.
Prefer some programming experience.
Relevant computer software and criminal justice systems (including but not limited to MS Office 2007, Windows Server 2003 and 2008, Microsoft SQL, Pelco Surveillance equipment and software, Siemens access control/alarm equipment and software).
Statistical methods, records management systems, computer hardware and software operating systems (including Microsoft Office applications, Crystal Reports, Microsoft SQL, etc.), network principles and effective troubleshooting techniques.
Familiarization in law enforcement and police department operations.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Police Department officials, other employees and the public.
