SALARY RANGE: $85,136 - $119,307 annually

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Associate Dean provides strategic leadership, academic oversight, and operational management for the Police Training & Education Division, including four major program areas: the Peace Officer/Public Safety Transfer Pathway AS Degree, the Police Training & Education AAS Degree, the Police Training & Education Career Transition Diploma, and the summer Skills Program. The position also serves as the College's POST-approved PPOE Coordinator.
As Associate Dean, the position oversees all academic operations, faculty leadership, curriculum development, assessment, scheduling, program review, budgeting, accreditation, and student success initiatives for the division. As Director and PPOE Coordinator, the position ensures full compliance with Minnesota POST Board requirements, oversees PPOE student eligibility and documentation, maintains accreditation materials, and leads alignment with POST-mandated competencies. The position encompasses multiple interrelated program areas, including academic instruction, applied skills training, regulatory compliance, faculty development, student progress support, and external agency partnerships. The position supports the collective bargaining agreements of campus employees.
This position works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administration and serves on the President's Leadership Council.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Five years of full-time licensed peace officer experience. A Bachelor's degree with a major in law enforcement, criminal justice, or related field can substitute for one year of experience.
Experience working in higher education in law enforcement, criminal justice, or related field.
POST eligible and currently or previously licensed or able to become POST-eligible before the beginning of fall semester 2026.
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Demonstrated experience working with people of varied lived experiences.
Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in criminal justice or related field.
Ten years of full-time licensed peace officer experience.
Two years of supervisory experience.
Prior experience as a PPOE coordinator.
Five years of primary patrol related responsibilities within the past ten years.
Direct experience working with Minnesota POST board in an official capacity.
