Responsible for protecting lives and property with the campus community by: providing for and maintaining the safety of students, employees and the general public while on campus; enforcing the laws and regulations of the state and county, and the regulations of the college; maintaining the security of all college facilities and assets; and administering related services provided by the College Police.
Bachelor degree from an accredited institution with an emphasis in law, political science, public administration, business administration, or related field.
Must be able to attain Special Police Officer certification for the State of Maryland upon hire or within six months of hire.
Six years of management experience in law enforcement, security, public safety or closely related field preferred.
A minimum of two years' experience required.
Must have supervised personnel at the command level and managed programs directly related to this professional area for at least 2 years.
Must be available to work Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the department.
Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
