The search will remain open until the position is filled.RESPONSIBILITIES:Full-time instructional position in the Police Training Education program. Effectively instruct in a variety of areas pertaining to the Law Enforcement profession in both a lecture-based and hands-on environment. Additional responsibilities include curriculum development, professional development, student academic advising and student recruiting.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum:Education RequirementAssociate's degree with a major in law enforcement or criminal justice.Occupational Experience RequirementFour full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in law enforcement, a maximum of two years of this experience may be in corrections.Recency RequirementOne year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.Professional RequirementPOST (Peace Officers Standards and Training Board of Minnesota) eligible, or a Federal licensed agent with the powers of arrest, the completion of a basic course recognized by a state council, state commission, state board, or state agency which leads to licensing or basic certification as a law enforcement officer, including but not limited to the basic Drug Enforcement Administration's Agent school, the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Basic Agent school or the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center's uniform patrol course or basic investigators course.Preferred:Bachelor?s degree in criminal justice or law enforcement related field from a regionally accredited college8 years of full-time Minnesota POST licensed experience 5 years of primary patrol related responsibilities within the past 10 yearsCurrently certified (ability to obtain after hire) one or more of the following as:Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)FirearmsBackground in tactical responseExperience inTeaching and TrainingBrightSpace or a similar online student learning systemWorking with diverse populations of MinnesotaHow is Faculty Salary Determined?Per the MSCF contract, each new faculty member?s education and experience will determine how they are credentialed and where they are placed on the salary schedule. The Campus HR office is not able to guarantee an annual salary for faculty, therefore, when a new faculty accepts the job offer, they do so understanding that, initially, they will be placed at the minimum salary for that position.After a new faculty is hired, they have the opportunity to submit their education and verified work experience forms through their online employee profile, which is then received by the System Office, who makes the determination of their salary. To view the steps limits, definition of columns, and salary schedules for faculty, you will reference the MSCF contract, Chapter 13 ? Wages.
