Sworn police officer who will perform all related duties including, but not limited to: patrolling University property on foot, bicycle, or by vehicle, to engage the University community and public for the prevention of crimes; detect and interrupt crimes in progress; enforce city, state and federal laws; enforce traffic regulations; conduct investigations on criminal offenses and traffic accidents to gather evidence, obtain witnesses and make arrests; provide documentation and testimony to Judicial Board and courts; and provide general security for University properties and citizens on campus to ensure a safe environment for all.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalency. Ability to meet, communicate, and work with the general public effectively and to react calmly, quickly, and accurately in emergency situations is essential. Must successfully pass physical, psychological, and polygraph exams. Must meet minimum qualifications to attend and successfully complete the Basic Training Academy as provided by the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center. Minimum age 21 years. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
State Deputy Sheriff Commission certification, Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center certification, and CPR certification. Specialized training in defensive tactics, firearms, pursuit driving, and hazmat.
