The City is recruiting to fill the vacancy(s) of Police Corporal. We are seeking a collaborative and motivated professional to join the Police Department. In addition to performing duties of a Police Officer, a Corporal assists the Police Sergeant with first-line supervision. The Corporal's duties are carried out under the direction of a Police Sergeant or other Department Managers.
The Police Corporal provides formal and informal leadership to police officers by coordinating planned or reactive responses to community needs; assuming command at crime scenes as needed; providing training and mentoring for police officers; recognizing and resolving problems; and assuming the duties of a first-line supervisor when assigned to do so. Corporals will act as field training officers, and, in that capacity, train and evaluate new police officers. May be responsible for limited, temporary oversight functions in various assignments; may be required to work special assignments and duties; will be required to work shift work as related to assignment or duty; and perform other related work as required.

$10,000 hiring bonus: $2,500 upon hire, $2,500 completion of FTO, $5,000 completion of probation
