JOBSUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the PoliceChief, this position coordinates the issuance of identification cards andcard reader access to various buildings, labs, and other internal areas to allfaculty, staff, and students at UTHSC, contractors, and visitors. Assists withcrime statistics, various reports, and compiling required data/policies tomaintain UTHSC's compliance with the "Jeanne Clery Disclosure of CampusSecurity Policy and Campus Crime Statistic's Act."
Provides oversight to access card and database management, electronic system management, and the overall management of the University access control program.
Coordinates with the UTHSC Campus Police Department for daily monitoring and response to access control and proprietary alarm systems, during and after normal business hours.
Consults, recommends, and advises department leaders and University administration on access control matters.
Assists compile crime statistics, maintain crime logs, maintain campus crime reports, and compile information for the federally mandated "Annual Security Report and Annual Fire Safety Report."
Implements necessary data and maintains excel spreadsheets.
Creates and issues I.D. badges and grants/removes access to restricted areas.
Oversees parking requirements relating to parking access.
Ensures the accurate provision, distribution, and tracking of access cards.
Communicates and coordinates with internal and external community personnel.
Takes photos for various requirements.
Troubleshoots reported malfunctions with access and control.
Responds to customer questions/inquiries.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
