The department of 15 commissioned officers handles approximately 10,000 calls for service each year. Between incidents, officers enjoy time to pursue special projects, manage professional growth, and interact with residents, business owners and visitors. Strong partnerships are maintained with area law enforcement agencies, fire departments, hospital staff and mental health officials. Officers work a 4/10 work schedule plus overtime for additional hours
The starting salary range for a Lateral Officer is $70,000+, depending on experience, and is further increased with available education incentives and longevity. There is no state income tax in Washington, an excellent retirement benefit program and the City offers officers an additional voluntary 457 match. The Teamsters benefits package is exceptional for officers and their family at a cost of only $84.01/month.

Certification: Graduation from a basic law enforcement training as accepted by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission
Experience: At least 12 months experience as an active, sworn, municipal, county or state law enforcement officer, and have not been separated from law enforcement for more than 24 months
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform all essential functions
