This is a restricted position due to its funding from non-continuous and non-recurring funding sources. Provide efficient law enforcement and public safety service to the University community by effectively supervising and monitoring the patrol personnelâs response to calls for service, the investigation of report crimes and other suspicious activities, the resolution of public safety matters, and properly addressing administrative infractions. Enforce the laws of the Commonwealth and the rules and regulations of the University to maintain peace and order; make arrests, investigate reported crimes and crime scenes, collect and properly secure all evidence, write summons and case reports, and perform other law enforcement activities and other duties as assigned by a supervisor to facilitate the needs of the University including special events and internal/external community outreach. Conduct community policing/crime prevention activities by providing presentations to the University community. Present evidence to the Commonwealth Attorney and serve as a witness in Traffic, Criminal and Civil cases. Perform supervisory duties to include, but not limited to: staff management and evaluations, provide leadership, guidance and counsel to subordinate personnel; and, conduct daily inspections of employees to ensure conformity to departmental and University policies.
