Ensures the timely and professional delivery of law enforcement and security services to the Carilion Clinic facilities by supervising a shift of police and security officers. Develops and implements a positive team approach to policing by organizing, training and supervising his or her assigned shift. Lead officers are expected to lead by example working alongside their personnel daily while maintaining ongoing communications with their respective managers and personnel to assure quality customer service.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education: High School or equivalent required.
Experience: 2 years of law enforcement experience as a police officer required.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: (1) Has met Virginia minimum training standards for law enforcement officers and is currently certified as a law enforcement officer by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, or; a person who Virginia law enforcement officer's certification has expired within the past two years and is eligible for re-certification by attending an approved Virginia Department of Criminal Justice in-service program.
(2) Valid Virginia driver's license required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a driving record within the scope of Carilion's Driver Regulations. Due to Virginia's state law, the applicant must be at least 21 years of age. Oral and written communications skills are necessary to deal with the diverse community that uses the Clinic facilities. Computer keyboarding skills.
