Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration, the Chief of Police is responsible for providing management and leadership to the UCI Police Department, a fully sworn law enforcement agency comprised of approx. 82 employees (approx. 42 sworn, 16 civilian and 30 student employees). He/She is responsible to manage a $12M budget with $1.5M in equipment. The Chief manages a 24/7/365 operation which includes Patrol, Administration, Investigations, Emergency Management, and the UCI Medical Center Unit which is located in the City of Orange. The Chief represents the Police Department to the campus, Medical Center, neighboring communities, and outside law enforcement agencies, participating on various campus committees and partnerships which plan and prepare campus security and safety.The University of California, Irvine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer advancing inclusive excellence.
