Nestled in the hills of Contra Costa County, framed by beautiful vistas of San Pablo Bay, sits the picturesque community of Hercules (estimated population 25,000). The City has taken the very best of its past and combined it with thoughtful planning for the future to create a place that offers a vibrant, interconnected, and emerging transit-oriented ‘new urban’ lifestyle to businesses and residents. The City is currently seeking a Chief of Police. An experienced police executive and hands-on manager who demonstrates a collaborative and team-oriented approach to leadership and service to the community is being sought. The City is looking for a visionary leader and creative problem solver who takes a proactive stance to dealing with issues. The ideal candidate will be someone who takes an active interest in the community, engages the residents, and promotes and practices community policing. He or she should be politically savvy, yet apolitical, and capable of responding appropriately to political influences. Well-suited for this position, will be a candidate who understands and values the culture of Hercules and knows its demographics, both culturally and socioeconomically, as well as its challenges and issues. The annual salary range for this position is $144,060 – $183,864, DOQ. Apply online at www.bobmurrayassoc.com and contact Joel Bryden at (916) 784-9080, should you have any questions. Filing Deadline: May 11, 2018
