At a minimum, candidates must possess ten years of increasingly responsible law enforcement experience including three (3) years of management and administrative responsibility in a comprehensive law enforcement program supplemented by a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in criminal justice, police science, business administration, public administration, or a related field. FBI National Academy, POST Command College, and/or a Master’s degree are highly desirable. Bilingual speaking abilities is a plus. An equivalent combination of experience and education sufficient to perform the essential job function and provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
