The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor's degree with 10 or more years of command level experience. The position requires experience working effectively in a diverse community. A master's degree is preferred. Experience as a Chief in a comparable department is preferred. Advanced training such as the FBI National Academy or Police Executive Research Forum is considered a plus.
